One night last week as I was coming home from the library, where I may or may not have been studying, I had an odd encounter. For a moment I thought I saw a figure dressed in all black waiting patiently for me at the other end of the tunnel, not quite lit by the lights in the tunnel. I imagined that momentarily he would extend a red lightsaber.
Well, the fellow was not really a Sith, he was not waiting for me, and I really doubt he has a lightsaber of any kind. What was actually going on was almost as bizarre as what I imagined though. He was with a group of about five college kids, one of whom had climbed all the way up onto the overpass and was hanging a chain of hangers from some bush or something up by the side of the highway. The next kid down was just perched there, on part of the overpass, with one leg dangling down. The kid below that was standing on a permanent traffic warning post next to the fellow I saw first. Someone else was taking a picture. They told me it was modern art.
I just smiled incredulously, nodded, and walked off. Half a minute later I was laughing rather loudly. College.
